How to do The Work

The Work is meditation. The work is four questions and the turnaround. Anyone can do the work. It can be alone or with others. All that is required is the willingness to ask the questions and to wait for the answers.

The first step is to identify a stressful thought (a judge your neighbor worksheet is helpful in this regard). It could a thought as simple as "They should take my advice." Then apply the questions (and call me in the morning - joke)

1. Is it true? - If you have let others answer this question for you before, now is the chance to find out what is true for you. Yes is good, No is good.

2. Can you absolutely know that it is true? - If the answer to question 1 is no, skip to #3, otherwise use this question to go deeper.

3. How do you react, what happens, when you think that thought? - Here is the chance to see how believing this thought has affected your life.

4. Who would you be without the thought? - Continue to see how this thought has affected you by seeing how your life would be without this thought. What arises could surprise you.

Then turn it around(the concept you are questioning), and find three genuine examples of each turnaround
